Halifax Rainmen guard was team’s leading scorer in two wins
The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce that Halifax Rainmen guard Tony Bennett has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 24, 2010. He is the first Halifax player to earn Player of the Week Honors since Rob Sanders earned recognition on February 1, 2009.
Bennett, a 6’0”, 190-pound guard who played his collegiate ball at Bradley, was the leading scorer in two Rainmen victories this weekend. In a Friday night matchup against the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry, Bennett led his team in scoring with 24 points. He continued his efforts on Sunday night, in a 107-99 Halifax road victory over Manchester, in which he scored 25 points, once again the top scorer on his team. His efforts, along with the efforts of his teammates, have pushed Halifax to within a half-game of Puerto Rico for the PBL regular season lead.
The Premier Basketball League congratulations Bennett on this honor.
