Andre Levingston, owner of the Halifax Rainmen, is thrilled to announce the signing of point guard Taliek Brown to the roster, effective immediately. Former University of Connecticut point guard star Taliek Brown has joined the Rainmen roster. The New York native led the University of Connecticut to a national championship in 2004. Since then, Brown has played professional basketball in several countries including Greece last year, where he took his team all the way to a championship. Brown has had several NBA try-outs including the Boston Celtics. Levingston believes Brown will make a smooth transition to the Halifax team. “He’s a veteran that gives us size and another tough guard to play with Gary Ervin,” said Levingston. “Everywhere this kid has played he's won a championship; he’s a winner.” “We want winning to be contagious in Halifax,” added Levingston. “And we want our players to understand we expect to win.” Taliek Brown – Professional Stats: - Greece: 11 pts, 4 assists - Venezuela: 14 pts, 8 assists The Rainmen take on the Puerto Rico Capitanes this Friday night, 7pm at the Halifax Metro Centre. Fans are encouraged to wear Rainmen Blue, or their Rainmen gear to show their support for their Rainmen.
