Halifax Rainmen team owner, Andre Levingston, has accepted a special Hoops for Haiti shoot-off challenge during half-time at this Sunday’s game against the Rochester RazorSharks by Lee Bragg, CEO of EastLink. The challenge is $500 per shot, with Bragg and Levingston each shooting 20 free throws, with the proceeds going to Unicef in support of their ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Each basket Bragg sinks will cost Levingston $500 and for every basket Levingston sinks, Bragg will donate $500. “The opportunity to step onto the Rainmen’s court and go head to head with Andre is going to be exciting, and I am proud to continue the spirit of generosity by donating to Hoops for Haiti” said Bragg.
“The Rainmen are privileged to be in a position to help raise funds and awareness for on-going relief efforts in Haiti,” said Levingston. “I look forward to taking on the shoot-off challenge against Lee because the real winner will be Hoops for Haiti, Unicef and ultimately the people who so very much need our help in Haiti.”
Fellow sponsor Norsat Eblaghi, President, Alumitech Distribution Centre, has come forward and agreed to match the total donation. “Alumitech is happy to partner with the Rainmen and support them in this worthy and urgent cause.”
