RAINMEN LOSE HEARTBREAKER IN OT, 115-113 TO RAZORSHARKS BACK HOME
rochester300For the third straight game, overtime on the road has not been kind to the Halifax Rainmen.
After a fast start to their game in Rochester Saturday afternoon, the Rainmen let the hometown RazorSharks back into the game in the third quarter.

With the Rainmen leading 31-20 after the first quarter, Rochester outscored the Halifax 32-20 in the third quarter. That tied the score 79-79 going into the fourth quarter, where the teams traded baskets for 25 points each, sending the game to overtime tied at 104 points.
Rochester, the defending league champs, outscored the Rainmen in overtime 11-9 for the 115-113 victory.

Tony Bennett led the Rainmen with a game high 33 points. The loss, however, drops the Rainmen to 9-5 on the season, still comfortably in fourth place, remaining in the final playoff spot in the PBL.

The Rainmen will try to get back on the winning track and welcome a return home to the friendly confines of the Halifax Metro Centre on Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. for a rematch against the league-leading Puerto Rico Capitanes, 13-2.

The game against the Capitanes is the rescheduled match, originally slated for Feb. 26, but cancelled due to storm conditions. Fans with tickets for the previous date will have them honored at the upcoming game. Fans are urged to wear blue to support their Rainmen for this important home game.
