About Us BACK HOME

FinalRainmen_LogoEntering our fourth season, The Halifax Rainmen are ready to hit the court!

Led by Detroit native and now Halifax resident, Andre Levingston, we're showing we've got what it takes to develop a broad fan base to become a permanent fixture in downtown Halifax, as Nova Scotia’s only professional basketball team.

Owning and operating a professional basketball team was something Levingston considered for many years. Although originally considering Mississauga, Ontario, Levingston was convinced by Dartmouth local and former Saint Mary’s basketball star, Jad Crnogorac, to come to Nova Scotia.

“I want to establish the team as a business that Halifax
can call its own by translating a love for basketball and
a thirst for sport entertainment into a great opportunity for the entire city.

It took only a couple of games for fans to take ownership of this team and in a short time I believe the entire city will be proud of the Rainmen, not just for our skill of the game but for their standard of public personas and business savvy
,” says Levingston.

The Halifax Rainmen are more than just an exciting professional sports product. Our players have become advocates for kids, acting as positive role models by helping to develop amateur sport in the city. “I believe the Rainmen can help to instill values, such as commitment, discipline, sportsmanship and integrity,” says Levingston.
